Hollyhock
"Holly"
While she had not been abused, we feel this little horse is a true rescue - when we got her early in 2005, she was almost a year old and had not even been given a name... the breeder had sold her with the promise of papers to come and did not follow through, and the owners discovered they had no time for her. We christened her Hollyhock (Holly for short) and began her "rehab" - she was quite skittish, obviously not used to much attention, but being young and not actively abused, she came around very quickly. Special thanks to volunteer Sierra who spent a lot of time helping Holly accept attention. She is a real sweetheart and even at such a young age does very well on our visits to the retirement facilities. In fact after only a year, she went in the elevator at Grandview Care Center, making her the second of our minis to ride an elevator.
