Trooper is a small standard spotted donkey.  He is very handsome, with a beautiful spot pattern and a great personality, so long as the GIRLS aren't around! - he really loves it when people pay attention to him.  He even rides a bit - again, so long as the GIRLS aren't around...

These are a couple of his babies from 2005.  We own Trooper with a partner, who had him for breeding season last year and bred him to several black-and-white miniature mares.  The dark foal is a john mule, with one white sock.  The spotted foal is a jennet.  Another jennet was born after we visited with the camera, she looks just like the john foal but has three white socks.

MF Wyatt Earp is our chocolate miniature donkey.  He ran with our mares last year but at this point we believe only one mare (Jasmine) might be carrying.  Only time will tell...if so, this will be his first foal.  As soon as the weather cools enough to make breeding sensible, he will be happy to be back with the mares again.  Like Trooper, Wyatt loves people and attention, so long as the girls aren't around.  One thing we have learned about donkey jacks is, they are like teenaged boys - nice enough on their own, but easily distracted when there are girls around!

One thing about Wyatt that really cracks us up is that he LOVES to have his butt scratched, and if you are working in his pen, or even in the next pen over, he will slowly back up towards you, peeking back over his shoulder to make sure you notice that he is ready for his scratches.
