OUR PURPOSE |
|
To provide a safe haven for miniature horses, mules and
donkeys to recover, both physically and mentally, from abuse, neglect, and
mistreatment, whether short or long term.
To establish guidelines, information and training for potential adopting families and follow-up visits to ensure that the animals continue in a safe and caring environment. Focusing on the small ones due to the size of our facility and the fact that while there are other equine and hoofed animal rescue facilities which also take in minis, the small ones do have special needs as far as fencing (ours will walk right through the standard 3-rail pasture fence), feed (one of the most common causes of health problems in minis is overfeeding both quantity and protein content), etc. To educate and inform the public regarding equine abuse - especially the abuse particular to minis. To share our love of equines and the unique personalities of the minis by visits to independent living retirement communities, assisted living and full care facilities, Alzheimer's and other specialty facilities, churches, preschools, and more.
